Hello Merrimack!

All swimmers will compete in Freestyle for their age group and other events as will be shown in the program. Once your swimmer has swam all events you are allowed to leave. Please check in with a coach before leaving. If your swimmer is suddenly unavailable for Time Trials, please email [email protected] immediately. If you did NOT indicate “Available” (RSVP) for Time Trials in Swimtopia, the deadline has passed. Not to worry, your swimmers will get their first times at the B-Meet on June 18th.

ORDER OF SWIM MEET EVENTS:

IM - boys and girls

Freestyle - boys and girls

Backstroke - boys and girls

Break

Breaststroke - boys and girls

Butterfly - boys and girls

VOLUNTEERS:

We still need 2 timers, and an assistant clerk of course. No experience needed for either role! Sign up here. Select the green “Job SignUp” box. On Saturday, check in at the main guard shack (near the announcer) and we’ll direct you! Please note most volunteers must stay the entire meet. Volunteer job descriptions here.

OFFICIALS & TIMERS: Gather at 8:10am at the baby pool for a training session. Remember your white collared shirt if you’re officiating!

FOOD:

Praline will be selling food from Mack’s Cafe (including coffee). Our swimmers carry water bottles, but please also BYOWB: Bring Your Own Water Bottle! And don’t forget your credit cards - we are cashless.

SUITS AND SWAG!

  • SPORT FAIR will be poolside selling team suits from 8-11am ONLY. Swimmers can try on suits and representatives can help with sizing. This is a ONE-TIME POOLSIDE POP-UP SHOP.
  • For those who ordered swim caps they should arrive in time for Time Trials and we will set up a table to distribute. Also stop by to pick up your 2025 Merrimack bag tag!

FIRST-TIMER FAQ:

Can my little/sibling, non-team kids swim?

NO. The diving well and baby pool are CLOSED during all meets.

What should we pack?

  • Swim gear: goggles, sunblock, swim cap, towels + extras of everything just in case.
  • Also bring: refillable water bottle and folding chairs (optional)
  • Bring sweatshirt and sweatpants to stay warm

Do we have to stay the entire meet?

Once swimmers complete ALL their events and confirm with a coach, they may go. VOLUNTEERS need to stay the entire meet.

What does it mean if my child gets disqualified?

Younger and new swimmers frequently get disqualified especially in breaststroke and butterfly. This is a learning opportunity and coaches will work with all swimmers to learn legal strokes. Don’t forget two hand touches for breast and butterfly!

Is there an APP for that?

YES! Swimtopia has a great app: App Store or Google Play. (SKIP “Pro” upgrade. We won’t use it.) Once you download, log in with YOUR PERSONAL Swimtopia username & password (which you set up at registration).
