Happy Father’s Day to all our Merrimack Dads!

GO MERRIMACK! We won our first A meet against Cedarbrook on Saturday! Congratulations to all our committed swimmers swimming legally and pushing through challenging races. Thank you to our swimmers, coaches, volunteers, and parents for making the morning great.

• 11:59 PM DEADLINE to RSVP for this week’s B & A MEETS!!!
  • Our first B Meet is this Wednesday away at Little Falls (5205 Little Falls Dr., Bethesda, MD 20816). Everyone is eligible to swim, but your swimmer will not swim unless you mark them “available” for the meet.
  • If you swam the A Meet on Saturday, you may not swim the same events in the B Meet. The only exception is freestyle. You may swim freestyle again if you did not finish in the top 5.
  • Meet day entries are prohibited.
  • Parents and swimmers can choose their events when they sign up (please limit entries to 3 events, with the exception of the IM. Coaches will review entries and may make changes.

• MORNING PRACTICES RUN ALL WEEK.
  • ON WEDNESDAY, MORNING PRACTICE ONLY (Swim Meet in the afternoon) Schedule below and on the website.
  • ON THURSDAY, MORNING PRACTICE ONLY (JUNETEENTH)
  • Swimmers should try to make practice every day. The schedule is meant to provide maximum flexibility. Please only attend one practice per day.

• 8 am - First Home A-Meet vs Kentlands (at Merrimack Pool)

• 8-10 pm - Swim and Dive Fun Night for 13 and older swimmers!
  • Pool is open only for our 13 and older swimmers and divers.
  • Parents can drop off at 8pm and pick up at 10pm.
  • This is a fun night for our older swimmers and divers!

DONUTS & WEEKLY AWARDS ON FRIDAY AT 8:45 AM: If you can make Friday morning practice, this is a fun and delicious Merrimack tradition! Coaches hand out weekly awards to swimmers who show great sportsmanship, leadership, etc. Then EVERYONE gets donuts.

WHAT’S A DQ?

DQ stands for disqualified - and it’s very common! Reassure your child this is all just part of learning to swim.

WHAT TO WEAR TO A SWIM MEET?

We love to see our Merrimack suits and caps on our swimmers, but not required. If you don’t have a Merrimack suit, you can wear any suit without another team’s or club’s logo.

WHERE CAN I SEE TIMES AND MEET RESULTS? Under the My Account tab on the Merrimack Website, you can see a list of your swimmers. Click a swimmer’s name to view their times. Meet results are posted here!

WHAT TIME ARE PRACTICES?

Morning Practices Begin (Monday to Friday)

8 and under 8 am - 8:45 am

Ages 9-11 8 am - 9 am

12 and older 8:45 am - 10 am

Morning Awards - 8:45 am on June 20th, June 27th, Thursday, July 3rd and July 11th

No practice on Friday, July 4th

Afternoon Practice (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday)

12 and older 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm

8&U Team 5:30 pm - 6:15 pm

Ages 9-11 6:15 pm - 7 pm

No afternoon practice on Thursday, June 19th.
